Shiny and dull, glazed and unglazed, green and tan invite you to drink from this stoneware pair.
Both mugs are wheel thrown from warm, tan stoneware. Pulled handles were added at leather hard stage. Once each mug dried, they were bisque fired in the kiln to cone 04 (about 1945F). Several green glazes were layered inside and allowed to drip down the front. The raw clay at the base was decorated with underglaze to enhance the random glaze spots and drips. The mug returned to the kiln a second time for a cone 6 (about 2232F) firing during which the silica in the clay and glaze vitrified and turned to a permanent, durable gloss.
These can be made to order in almost any colors. If you would like to customize, please leave a note at checkout and allow 2 to 3 weeks for shipping.
