Wheel thrown from warm, red stoneware. Pulled handle was added at leather hard stage and lines were incised in the outside using a wire tool and banding wheel. Once the mug dried, it was bisque fired in the kiln to cone 04 (about 1945F). Hazy green glaze was applied outside and white poured inside. The mug returned to the kiln a second time for a cone 6 (about 2232F) firing during which the silica in the clay and glaze vitrified and turned to a permanent, durable gloss.
